HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

In this course you will be taught the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response to a casualty including CPR, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
Course Duration
The duration for the HLTAID003 Provide First Aid course for online enhanced learning with face to face is 2-3 hours online with 30-45 minutes face to face assessment at our assessment centres/workplace or via digital assessment.

What is the On-line study component?

The online pre-work component consists of a series of questions to be answered by each student to demonstrate their understanding of First Aid. Course material is provided to assist with completing these questions.

This component must be completed and submitted at least 2 business days before the student is scheduled to attend the class. The content of the online component will be discussed in further detail by the Trainer during the class.

Details on how to access the online pre-work component will be provided to each student once the enrolment process has been finalised.

Course Requirements

All Students completing this course must have moderate English.
You need to demonstrate a 2 minute continuous period of performing CPR on an adult manikin which must be placed on the floor. So you need to be able to get on your knees to perform CPR on the adult manikin. There are no other medical requirements.
Students don’t need to bring any materials or equipment with them to the course.
*For Digital Assessment an assessment kit will need to be delivered to your home - extra cost for Kit delivery will be added to course cost
All Students must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) prior to enrolling in and attending their course.

Course Assessment

The duration for the HLTAID003 Provide First Aid course is approximately 120 minutes online study with 30- 45 minutes practical in class.

Award Issued

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Release 5)
HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (Release 4)
HLTAID003 Provide first aid (Release 6)

Recertification Requirements

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid & HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support component of this course is valid for 3 years.
The CPR component, HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation must be updated annually.

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) is not offered for this course.
